Visa Europe enters in social media with a great Facebook competition

Yesterday night Visa Europe launched a social media campaign on Facebook. The name of the page is Visafxer. It’s the real first time Visa enter in the social media world and they are doing it around a big event, the World Cup. From now til the final the 11th july, the competition is running and people can win 7 fixes means 20,000£ each fix…. quite nice prizes. How they do that….

Visa Fixer Competition

The competition is quite fun and simple. A tab application on the page allows people to enter “Your ultimate Fifa experience” … People have to tell how they dream to watch a match. 3 possibilities writing a text, upload a picture or a video. And that’s it. People who vote for their favourite entries can also win…
In a social media marketing point of view is a good mechanic to engage people, entertain them at the right moment and speak with them on the wall… Apart from the competition, some other application will be add using google map and Twitter.

Competitions on Facebook: the new social media technic

I took the Visa example because is an international and corporate brand entering in the big social media world. But many many brands are now using Facebook to run a competition. Why ? Because you engage more with people who like your brand in entertaining them, because Facebook is an amazing platform to develop new concepts, and because Facebook doesn’t host the competition is just an app and people are redirected… Diesel and Pepsi for example are doing that…
